THE FOUNDERS
The Order of the Dragon was founded on December 12th, 1408 by King of Hungary and later the Holy Roman Emperor and his wife Barbara von Cilli (Celje). It was established to defend Christianity and forge political bonds among its members. It was fashioned after the military orders of the Crusades.
SECOND FOUNDERS
On this day the 12th of December 2025, on the 617 year anniversary of original establishment of the Order, Derek Cotton of Stanbridge East and Shawn Pattison of Cowansville have breathed new life into the Order of the Dragon, establishing it in the modern age in a time when the code of Chivalry, charity and the defence of Christendom are needed more than ever.
